Karen Fitzgerald was born in Pittsburgh on September 23, 1945, as the youngest of fifteen children. Having grown up surrounded by family, a bustling household was second nature. Together with George, she raised Mark, Lea, Chip, and Heather — moving from Pittsburgh to Montclair before finally settling in Edina, where the door was always open and the party found its permanent address.
